Top 5 Best Urethane Bowling Balls of 2019 Video Review by Bowler’s Rant

Coming in at #5 – The 900 Global Badger Infused bowling ball.

This is a ball that really caught my eye when it first came out. Yes it’s a “blend” of resin and urethane, and while it shows a 70/30 split on the resin/urethane combination, this ball motion is tame and to me looked more like a 50/50 split.

The motion is very controllable, it’s a two piece ball, a pearl cover and at 1000 abaralon. Very much a fan of the shelf appeal on this one, and the core design was really really cool.

Coming in at #4 the Motiv Tank Blitz bowling ball.

Some people think I don’t like Motiv stuff, but that is hardly true, and this was easily one of my favorite balls Motiv put out last year. I’m a huge fan of the good looks on this ball.

Love the red, the black star is super OG, and I like this symmetrical Gear core. with an RG 2.48 and a .034 differential, this ball has not only good looks, great rg/differential numbers, and the Microcell Polymer cover is no joke. Huge offering with a lot of performance in this category. when you put all this together, makes it a g reat offering in 2019.

Coming in at #3 – the Storm Fever Pitch bowling ball.

So this ball was at the beginning of 2019 that was really eye catching. Yesper Svennson was using it on tour and just shredding racks. The interesting orange shelf appeal was amazingly eye catching….easily a ball that generated a ton of buzz.

Also the core design while simple was also a blend of old and new, being a solid giant light bulb-ish core. The power control urethane pearl cover was also pretty darn good, as well as the RG of 2.61 with a .030 differential.

Lots of bowlers grabbed this for league, sport patterns and also used as a spare ball.

OK coming in at #2 is the Storm Pitch Black bowling ball.

This is a ball that was released in 2014 and continues to still dominate on the regional circuits, on the pba tours, leagues, pretty much just about everywhere you go. where ever there is someone with a high rev rate, almost always gonna find this ball.

This ball has insanely good shelf appeal. you again, the logo sticks out, really nice color. Comes with the Control Urethane coverstock, comes at 1000 grit, comes with the time tested capacitor core, and comes with a nice 2.57rg, and a .022 differential.

So, this is a ball that has been used on leagues, sport patenrns, has been time tested and continues to offer an insane value, and continues to be insanely popular with bowlers around the world, which makes it the Runner-up 2019 Urethane-ish ball of the year.

Coming in at #1 – the Hammer Purple Pearl Urethane bowling ball.

I mean, this is a no brainer. This is absolutely the most popular urethane ball on the planet. And you can’t find them. And when you do see them on ebay, they are going for over $300.

So lets take a look at it. First of all the shelf appeal, This ball is absolutely outstanding. It is just dynamite. The purple color really stands out. The signature center of gravity marking and the Urethane text in cursive are absolutely recognizable. It comes with this cool looking light bulb core with nice bevels.

The finish on this ball, 500/1000/2000 abralon. You can tune this anyways you want. Polish it, bring it down, bring it up, however you like it. And the numbers at 15lbs 2.65rg and a .015 differential. I mean, This basically is the Ferrari of bowling balls. Everyone wants them. They are sexy, they really cool things, and urethane, even though this brings you a smooth arc, and this is a pearl ball, it goes just a little longer than the traditional hammer black urethane.

So, really good performance, really good looks, insane popularity make this the 2019 Urethane-ish Bowling Ball of the Year.
