Shawn Naumann Joins To Discuss Health, USBC Open Championships & College Bowling – RealLife Bowlers Podcast 7

Real Life Bowling Podcast Episode 7

With Anthony Caso and Chris Polizzi

Welcome To The RealLife Bowling Podcast

We have used this first podcast is an introduction to our channel and to ourselves. The main point was to share information and our experience with bowlers of all skill levels. We touch on topics anywhere from layouts to ball motion and what it’s like bowling on tour. We offer a unique perspective, being that we are both pro-shop operators. Because of this, we are able to give you yet another perspective from that side of the industry. We wanted this first introduction to be as organic as possible, which is why we chose not to have certain points we wanted to touch upon.  Having known each other for years we felt this was the best way to approach this podcast to keep it as natural as possible.

Shawn Naumann Comes On To Talk About USBC Open Championships, College Bowling And Fitness For Better Bowling

In this podcast, we feature another one of our very good friends and one of the nicest people you could ask to meet. For those of you that watch our channel, you’ll recognize Shawn Naumann’s name from last week’s video. He is Mike Moore’s great friend and PBA doubles partner. Shawn is extremely intelligent and we always enjoy getting to speak with him.
We discuss the USBC championships because that is a tournament he covets more than any other. He and his team have been within the top ten a handful of times and winning this tournament means everything to Shawn. He talks about how difficult it is with all of the odds stacked against him and thousands of other competitors going for the same goal. We know just how difficult it is to bowl a decent score, let alone with the USBC championships, so we respect Shawn for all he has accomplished there.
We also talk about how he got started in bowling and eventually went on to bowl at UCF. Shawn originally loved golf but because the golf season would interfere with his studies he decided to bowl and never looked back. He recalls throwing shots and having his entire team behind him and just the electric energy those situations produced. Bowling in college is like no other experience he has ever had bowling.
We wrapped up by talking about something a little more personal for Shawn. He went through a weight loss journey for his bowling but more importantly his health. Since he has knee issues losing weight has helped alleviate some of that pain. His focus may have shifted over the years but bowling continues to be a huge part of his life and a passion.
