PBA JR National Championships Air Sunday on FS1

Boys and girls national champions to be crowned, Pro/Jr. Doubles competition to follow

Euless, Texas—The second annual PBA Jr. National Championship airs Sunday, January 30 at 2:30 p.m. ET on Fox Sports’ FS1 with the winners of the boys and girls divisions each earning $16,000 in SMART scholarships for their future education. Following the championship matches in each division, the PBA Jr. competitors will join PBA Tour stars Tommy Jones and EJ Tackett as well as PWBA Tour stars Danielle McEwan and Liz Johnson for a pro/junior doubles competition.

PBA Jr. players competed in five different regional qualifiers from which the top two boys and girls in each region advanced to PBA Jr. National Championship match play. The 10-game match-play round will be streamed live Friday, January 28 at noon ET on the PBA Jr. Facebook page. The leader of each division after 10 games automatically advances to the televised championship match, with the No. 2 seed to be decided through the stepladder finals following match play.

After two PBA Jr. National Champions are decided, four doubles teams will be put together, with each PBA Jr. player getting a top-tier professional as a teammate. The teams led by Tackett and Jones will face off, as will the teams led by McEwan and Johnson, with the winning teams battling in the pro/junior doubles championship match.

In last year’s inaugural PBA Jr. National Championship, Spencer Robarge won the boys division with a win over Nate Purches. Jillian Martin won the girls division, defeating Victoria Varano in the championship match. Soon after, Robarge qualified for the stepladder finals in the USBC Masters and Martin became the youngest player ever to win a PWBA Tour title in the 2021 PWBA BowlTV Classic.
