Hammer Black Widow Savage Bowling Ball
Initial thoughts
I love the color as I pull it out the box and the shelf appeal with the white logo’s really make this ball pop!
Once I got the Savage on the lane it was distinctly cleaner through the front part of the lane when comparing it the Ghost.
But the ball shaped beautifully down lane. Bowling balls that come with polish or compound out of box I generally end up hitting it with surface to get a more predictable motion, this ball is the exception. The cleaner cover allowed me to stay further right on the fresh while still maintaining certain amount of hold to the left and enough back motion to make it back when I leaked one right. This is still a Black Widow and as soon as the lanes transitioned I began to see the typical Black Widow shape down lane. This ball is suited for game 1 or 2 depending on your rev rate.
This ball will be good for a variety of bowlers.
Down and in players leave the polish on and you will be camp out in the track area of the lane and strike all night. Where the higher rev crowd will be able to move left and watch this ball make it staple Black Widow motion back to the pocket. Dialing the speed down is the only adjustment I saw myself making as I moved across the lane and it gave me a sense of comfort knowing this ball was not going to penalize me as much as the Ghost typically could. Changing the surface is always an option if you want more overall hook, but in my in opinion you should let this ball break in for a couple games before you pass your final judgement.
When comparing the Savage to balls like the Ghost and the Pink Widow Pearl(Not the Urethane),it is not nearly as early as the Ghost and not as quick to friction as the Pink.
In my opinion this is the most useable ball of the bunch. Adding surface to the savage can make it even more versatile. The difference in all three of these rocks is the coverstock, and it is very noticeable on the lanes. If you are looking for heavy rolling ball the Hammer Black Widow Ghost is your pick, but for me the Savage will be in my bag moving forward. The Ghost has been a huge success since it release in 2021 and continues to show up on tv, the Savage continues to your bring more of the Black Widow motion that has been adored by the masses.
If you love Black Widows, this ball will not disappoint. Once you see this ball go through the pins you will enjoy this motion and find success when playing your favorite part of the lane

For Black Widow, the engine that is the source of power, the “gas mask core,” is an immovable item and a condition of existence. When considering the evolution of the series around this gas mask core, the cover stock update is inevitably the target of development, but the hammer development team is not limited to changing the cover stock type, expanding the possibilities of the Black Widow series.
Overseas bowling balls are approved for all sanctioned USBC league and tournament play, but may not approved for PBA competition. Please check all rules and regulations before competition.

Love this ball. It’s better than the Ghost in my opinion.
I shot my first 300 with the Savage and my Ghost left me a solid 8 for a 299.
Been in the market for a black widow, I think I found it
Still on waiting list waiting on ball to come out
