We finally get Todd “Hollywood” Adams out on the lanes at Sunset Station to throw the Defender Hybrid, Verge Solid and the Radical Innovator on a house pattern. Todd is not just a veritable encyclopedia of bowling knowledge but is a solid bowler as well. Brunswick Defender Hybrid Bowling Ball

Over the past eighteen months, the Brunswick Research and Development team has worked hard to develop the next breakthrough in cover technology. After pouring and throwing hundreds of bowling balls with dozens of new base reactive urethane formulations combined with a wide variety of chemical components and additives, our ball team has created something exceptional – the new HyperKinetic22 coverstock.

HK22, as we’ll often refer to it, features enhanced color and clarity by engineered nano microcellular phase separation technology, dramatically improving the cover’s translucency. And through Quasi prepolymer staged reactions, intermolecular friction is reduced to manifest a dynamic interactive polymer morphology with the lane. To simplify this, bowling balls featuring HK22 look better on the shelf and perform better on the lanes with a shiny finish that provides easy length and increased dry lane friction for impressive backend reaction. HK22 is an exciting technological advancement, and we believe this is just the beginning as our chemists continue their work to push the limits of bowling ball performance.

As always, each brand will continue to do independent testing with unique additive packages to supply the market with the broadest range of ball motion in bowling.

The new Brunswick Defender Hybrid is the first ball introduced using HK22. You’ll first notice the shelf appeal and colors of the Defender Hybrid and how they pop; this is due to the new translucent base material. The new base material HK22 creates a noticeable and exciting advancement in shiny ball hook potential, creating more teeth in the mid-lane for a shiny ball and a stronger, more responsive breakpoint. The ACT 3.0 additive package was added to the HK22 base to achieve optimal ball reaction. The overall result is more backend and a shiny ball that will handle more volume and give the bowler more area at the breakpoint.

The Defender features Brunswick’s innovative outer core technology called DynamiCore. This industry-leading technology is a more durable outer material that yields less compression upon impact increasing hitting power and creating an undeniable difference in sound and pin carry.

DV8 Verge Solid Bowling Ball

The DV8 Verge Solid is easily the most aggressive symmetric ball DV8 has ever released, both in appearance and performance. We wrapped our strongest cover, Inciter Max Traction, in a super bright orange and white color around the super low RG Threshold core. We topped it off with a 1500 Siaair finish making this the perfect ball for battling heavy oil for bowlers that prefer symmetric core balls.

Radical Innovator Bowling Ball

We are excited to announce a new category of Radical balls that will pay tribute to Mo Pinel and highlight cores that have not been released yet and some of his favorites. The new Innovator is the first ball introduced into “The Mo Pinel Heritage Series” and features a never released asymmetric core design based on Mo’s patented Off-Set technologies and is appropriately named to kick off the new tribute series. The Innovator has moderate asymmetrical numbers, an RG 2.47, a differential of .053, and an intermediate differential of .012. The Innovator core is wrapped with the newly developed MOtion Magic Plus Pearl cover. The MOtion Magic Plus Pearl cover is a polished cover designed for a strong angular backend motion that many have desired for years. The new Innovator asymmetric core and the MOtion Magic Plus cover yield a strong, sharp angular down-lane motion that will surely turn heads.

shots that are important it’s not the
score it’s important it’s the knowledge

see first one’s always got to be bad
because you can always go up from there

it’s kind of my favorite hit
so if I throw it way better than that I
should strike flush instead of swish the
rack and we want to line up to where uh
we get that swish hit when we throw it
good when we throw a great flush because
if we don’t
uh and we throw a grate and the ball
hits the middle of the head pin for five
or six that’s not good

the lane and smoother down Lane so

cracked the surface on this ball at all
this is right out of the box made a big
move there
they wanted to push so we’re going to
move back to the back to the right and
see what uh see if we can throw better

a little bit wider that’s okay it’s a
good shot both got flush
through the pins pretty good
again when it gets to that friction a
little sooner it’s going to come off a
bit harder

balls on the house shot well like I said
I I knew the defender hybrid was going
to be that house shot monster kind of
ball uh hybrid cover big core love it
um drilled to the the defender
to be rolly continuous The Verge solid
just
I like that color uh I like the way it
shapes it’s early and smooth
um it does exactly what it’s supposed to
do right early smooth pinned down not
too far from the axis uh and then the
innovator is long and strong ball gets
through the front it’s really super
clean and uh makes that real strong
motion down Lane that’s what I like well
