Got Oil? | Storm DNA vs Super Nova | The Hype | Bowlersmart
Looking to replace your Super Nova, the DNA looks like a worthy replacement.
Storm DNA Bowling Ball
You may have already seen how a bowling ball is made. We start from the innermost part, the weight block, and work our way out. In this case, it’s the inventive Supercoil weight block. The intent was to develop a super low RG shape with a greater undrilled intermediate differential. Traditionally, weight blocks with more of the mass placed around the equator drive the RG down and read the midlane better.
The cutaway on the Y-axis helps to maintain dynamic integrity after drilling. When it’s time, the coverstock is poured. In just a few minutes as the liquid transitions to a solid, an extreme amount of heat (about 200 °F) needs to be released for this to happen. We refer to this as “exotherm”. This stage in the process is crucial to the chemistry of the coverstock and by controlling the peak temperature, heat rate, and cooldown speed we can manipulate the chemical porosity deep within that helps with oil absorption and displacement. This creates caverns of porosity and cliffs so deep which give this stateof-the-artshell the kind of cutting-edge traction that’ll leave you in awe. Enter: EXO Reactive coverstock.

Storm Super Nova Bowling Ball
The Super Nova is extraordinary by design. Showcasing the new and dynamically intense Ignition Core, the Super Nova features a tour-inspired design that enables better versatility on a wider array of oil patterns. Weight blocks like the Ignition Core rev up fast and finish strong with a more aggressive movement down lane. Need some extra oomph? Then look no further. The Ignition Core pumps out more than 6” of loaded flare potential! That’s more than enough differential to amp your adrenaline levels.
BE SUPER LIKE A NOVA

The Ignition Core pumps out more than 6” of loaded flare potential! That’s more than enough differential to amp your adrenaline levels. NRG™ has become a staple in Storm’s lineup of coverstocks for nearly a decade. It’s due time for an upgrade! NeX (Nano Extreme) is Storm’s earliest reading cover to date. NeX Solid was remarkably earlier hooking than NRG on any pattern, or any surface we tested it on. Our standardized durability and longevity tests showed NeX created 11% more entry angle and 9.6% more overall hook after 50 shots compared to a fresh NRG cover. Simply put, NeX gives more midlane read than ever WITHOUT sacrificing any backend! Wow.
