Storm/Roto/900 Discontinued List | 10 Balls Removed From Lineup! | New Belmo Ball Coming?

Chris Beans shares breakdown on the SPI discontinued list for May 2024

Storm Journey Bowling Ball

The Journey was strikingly crafted with the intent of offering versatility for any style that might use it. The F-8 Core certifies this by building off of a mid-range undrilled RG value that’ s neither too high nor too low – it’s just right. Positioned for control and adaptability, the Fate’s motion was as elegant as it was potent. Now, clad in fresh resin and armed with a brilliant finish, we retraced some of our steps with the Journey. While eerily familiar, those steps felt strange and new. which is exactly what Jason Belmonte, the number one player in the world wanted. When asked what Storm ball should live on forever, Jason replied: “Obviously, the Phaze II, mate .” The Journey stands on the shoulders of giants that came before it. TX-16 has been around for years and that’s not without merit. For the first time ever, a cleaner adaptation of this renowned cover is hitting the lanes. Pair it with the ever versatile F-8 Core and you now have the most exciting collaboration with Belmo to date: the Journey.

Everyone has their own Journey. Where will yours take you?

When compared to the Dual-Drive™, Piston™, and Piston™ LD, the Journey’s F-8 Core excels in differential. This heightened differential provides players with increased recovery and hitting power, surpassing all previous collaborations. Our newly designed weight block caters to multiple angles, delivering superior performance regardless of your rev rate.

Storm HyRoad Pearl Bowling Ball

The number one factor of ball motion is coverstock. Just one shot with the new Hy-Road Pearl and youll see the difference. The R2S pearl reactive shell floats easily through the front, maintaining ball speed as much as possible, waiting to really cut loose on the backends!

Matching the core to the coverstock is equally important, though. That is why the same Inverted Fe Technology weight block will be carried over into the new Hy-Road Pearl. Pairing the R2S Pearl reactive coverstock with the dynamic Fe weight block ensures that your favorite layouts in your previous Road series balls will be just as effective in the new Hy-Road Pearl. You see, Storm recognizes your needs as a bowler because we, too, are bowlers! And just like you, we want every advantage on the lanes that we can get.

Dont forget that the thicker shell of the Hy-Road series makes a difference, too. The amount of energy transferred to the pins at impact is greater, translating to unmatched power at the pocket. Its part of what makes the Hy-Road one of the most special balls in the history of bowling.

Roto Grip Clone Bowling Ball

We are dedicated to improving players’ ability to conquer various lane conditions and comply with governing rules. This led us to create the asymmetrical Cloned E.T.™ Core (Equalizer Technology Core). By featuring built-in cavities, this avant-garde technology can increase weight displacement after drilling, without the need for a balance hole, resulting in greater ball motion.

Engineered for medium-heavy to heavy oil conditions, this cloned E.T.™ Core is truly exceptional. The base of the inner block contains built-in cavities, mirroring the effects of an extra hole, depending on your chosen drill. Given balance holes are no longer legal in sanctioned competition, we’ve devised a solution for capturing more flare potential and dynamics.

Our innovative E.T.™ Core boasts a lower RG and high differential, the perfect recipe for increased flare potential. However, by integrating these “equalizer cavities”, we’ve unlocked even more built-in dynamics after drilling.

Experience unrivaled midlane traction and friction response with the new OptiTrax Solid Coverstock’s blend. Its prolonged texture ensures your ball maintains maximum performance by displacing oil faster than other coverstock materials on the market today.

Roto Grip Exotic Gem Bowling Ball

Given the overwhelming success of the original Gem by bowlers of all skill levels around the globe, we felt it was important to make the next installment in this series something uniquely special like the first one. Let’s just say it didn’t take long for us to figure out that MicroTrax Pearl was the key element in this beauty.

So we went to work dialing in the proper ratios for each of the chemical elements to complement the nanoparticles blended throughout the entire coverstock. This was the most crucial factor in making sure this pearl ball would conquer those Medium/Heavy Oil conditions.

Bottom line, the Exotic Gem will produce skid through the front of the lane while still digging into the midlane where the Defiant LRG will take over and produce the strongest continuation of any high-end asymmetric pearl ball on the market today!

DEFIANT LRG CORE
With recent more in-depth studies of flare migration and core tendencies we circled the wagons back to the Defiant Series of bowling balls which featured a core ahead of its time regarding flare migration in order to create a longer constant motion. Upon further review and testing, we found that by altering the composite of this core shape, we were able to create the fastest revving, strongest continuing, lowest RG asymmetrical core we have ever offered in the history of ever now known as the DEFIANT™ LRG CORE.

Roto Grip Tour Dynam-X Bowling Ball

From day one, the end goal was to develop and create a high-performance ball from a completely different dynamic performance-focused perspective. Tour level players and above average bowlers from around the globe have always asked for a ball that produces control and continuation with minimal direction change in order to battle those tougher and more demanding and over reacting conditions. They spoke, we listened! So, we went to work to formulate and create the ultimate “TOUR PLAYER” ball.

And truth be told, after months and months of trials and errors, we were finally able to construct the optimum control and continuation for every style of bowler no matter their rev rate. Control, stability, and versatility unified into one dynamic ball that is a must for every single serious or semi-serious bowler.

Rondure Core

When a symmetrical core shape just isn’t enough or quite right, and a big asymmetrical core shape is just flat out too much, the answer is simple – the Mild-Asymmetric Rondure Tour Core. Why is this version considered a “Tour” model you ask? We thought you would never ask. From the original version of this shape previously introduced and used in the Rubicon™ Series, we changed the core values significantly to create a faster revving version that stays on-line easier and longer with less change of direction due to the Differential value being cut in half.

So, no matter how you throw this ball, whether you have a super high rev rate or a super low rev rate, or a rev rate somewhere in the middle, this Low RG, Low Differential, Mild Asymmetric Differential core produces a constant stable motion off your hand and all the way through the pin deck.

900 Global Eternity Bowling Ball

As with all of our high performance pearl covers, bowlers will find the Eternity to be easily tunable and able to cover a broad spectrum of oil conditions. Bowlers should notice this core to be a bit earlier and more aggressive than the Disturbance Core used on the Realities. It will expand upon the high performance shapes that the Reality and Zen have given us.

THE EPOCH ASYMMETRIC
The Epoch Asymmetric Core is an ALL NEW design that was inspired from the original Break Core that was used in so many previous Global releases. We have lowered the intermediate differential on the core compared to the Break Core to prevent the ball from losing energy too quickly or “lock up” as some asymmetric pieces tend to do. Bowlers should notice this core to be a bit earlier and more aggressive than the Disturbance Core used on the Realities. It will expand upon the high performance shapes that the Reality and Zen have given us.

S84 RESPONSE PEARL COVERSTOCK
The S84 Response Pearl Reactive Cover is back with a vengeance. Due to the increased microscopic pore sizes, this cover will be clean through the front part of the lane like a pearl should be, but also dig into the oil whereas other pearl covers tend to struggle with. This is the exact same cover that was used on the Altered Reality. As a matter of fact, 2 of the 3 colors used on the Altered have been utilized on the Eternity as well. As with all of our high performance pearl covers, bowlers will find the Eternity to be easily tunable and able to cover a broad spectrum of oil conditions.
