PBA to Award Highest Ever Guaranteed First Place Smart Scholarship in PBA Jr National Bowling Championships
PBA guarantees $1,000 first-place prize in all PBA Jr. Regional tournaments; increases top prize in PBA Jr. National Championship to $16,000
New York, NY – The PBA is dedicated to growing the sport of bowling at all levels and is excited to announce its increasing SMART Scholarship funds for all PBA Jr. tournaments in 2021 offering more opportunities for youth bowlers to compete with the best and earn scholarships for their future education.
The PBA is guaranteeing a $1,000 first-place SMART scholarship in each PBA Jr. Regional tournament, which offer additional opportunities for youth bowlers to compete outside of the National Event.
The Regional tournaments, which began in May, will continue to take place across the country, with competition on the weekends to allow as many elite youth bowlers to participate. Youth bowlers, girls and boys, ages 17 and under are eligible to compete, with PBA Jr. Club members receiving priority discounted entry.

The PBA Jr. National Championship will now guarantee a $16,000 first-place SMART Scholarship, the highest SMART scholarship to ever be awarded, in both the boys’ and girls’ divisions. The top-prize has more than doubled since 2020. The PBA Jr. National Championship Qualifiers will be held at four Bowlero centers around the country on September 3-5, 2021.
